Camfil Sustainability Report 2022 Release: Making indoor air quality more sustainable
Stockholm, Sweden 24 April 2023 – The impact of the post COVID-19 pandemic was still clearly evident on humanity in 2022. Economic, political and business environment uncertainties were a daily normal. While the current global environment continues to present new challenges on all levels, the Camfil sustainability journey to make indoor air quality (IAQ) more sustainable continues to align with our vision: clean air a human right.
Working towards this vision, Camfil’s sustainability focus informs and guides the business in different ways – from research and development, production to supply chain. “Looking back at 2022, the words of Charles Dickens comes to mind: it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” says Mark Simmons, President and CEO of Camfil. “For 60 years, we have been on a journey to help people breathe cleaner air. While clean air may be invisible to the eye, its benefits on health, sustainability and savings are clearly visible – making our vision even more relevant today.”
This report collects our sustainability efforts from 2022 and continues to steer our vision and business forward –sustainability is not something we do, but continues to be what we are. Selected topics covered in our sustainability report are:
Hi-Flo Next Generation Air Filters
The new generation of Hi-Flo air filters reduce energy consumption by over 105 million kWh per annum in Europe, and CO2 emissions by 25.620 tonnes. This new next generation of Hi-Flo air filters have Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) available.
Chief Airgonomics Officer Initiative
Camfil launched the new Chief Airgonomics Officer Initiative, our indoor air quality (IAQ) advocacy programme, prompting organisations worldwide to take accountability for indoor air quality (IAQ) by appointing a Chief Airgonomics Officer who can be “the voice of clean air” in the workplace.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)
Camfil´s filtration solutions make a big impact in the industry and therefore environmental claims must be backed up by transparent analysis. For this reason, Camfil developed the Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) to reduce the carbon footprint and respond to customer’s requirements for sustainability.
EcoVadis Gold Rating
In 2022 Camfil partnered with EcoVadis, one of the world´s largest providers of business sustainability ratings. EcoVadis awarded Camfil Svenska AB with Gold Rating in the business category “Manufacturer of Special-Purpose Machinery Industry”.
