Press release -
Camfil Laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard
Stockholm, Sweden, 23 March 2022 Camfil’s laboratory has successfully been accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard. This standard is the main international standard for general requirements when it comes to testing laboratories and calibration laboratories.
The laboratory at Camfil AB Research and Development Technology Center in Trosa tests particle filter, gas turbine filter, high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters and molecular filters. This standard accreditation is focused on the testing of particle filters (ISO 16890) and high efficiency particle filters (EN1822 and ISO 29463). The entire Trosa Tech Center laboratory is also certified according to ISO 9001.
"We are delighted as this accreditation confirms that we are ensuring that certification and testing are done with high quality and reliability. " - Mikael Eriksson, Laboratory Manager, Camfil AB.
As a leading manufacturer of premium clean air solutions, Camfil provides commercial and industrial systems for air filtration and air pollution control that improve worker and equipment productivity, minimise energy use and benefits human health and the environment.
The purpose of this accreditation by Swedish national accreditation body Swedac, is to be able to ensure that certification, control and testing are done with high quality and good safety for life, health and the environment. Swedac is a government authority with the objective of making products and services, safe and reliable.
ISO 17025 is the international reference for laboratories carrying out calibration and testing activities around the world. Developed in conjunction with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), it allows laboratories to implement a sound quality system and demonstrate that they are technically competent and capable of producing valid and reliable results.
"This accreditation according to the ISO 17025 standard is an important achievement for Camfil. It confirms not only that our competence, routines and methods are in order to meet all quality requirements accordingly, but highlights our commitment to deliver reliable test results, too." - Kenny Hedlund, Director R&D Europe, Camfil AB.
Accreditation involves audits regularly to ensure that the accreditation assignment is performed impartially, correctly and based on internationally recognised standards. This also helps facilitate cooperation between laboratories and other bodies by generating wider acceptance of results between countries. Test reports and certificates can be accepted from one country to another without the need for further testing, which, in turn, improves international trade.
“This system of conformity assessment and being accredited to a recognised international standard is the best practice in which the Trosa Tech center can show high competence and also emphasise impartiality.” - Mikael Eriksson, Laboratory Manager, Camfil AB.
