Camfil celebrates plant expansion in Ipoh, Malaysia, to further strengthen the support for Air Filtration business growth in Asia-Pacific region

Camfil takes the forefront in air filtration innovation, proudly declaring the inauguration of its manufacturing plant expansion in Batu Gajah near Ipoh, Malaysia. This strategic move emphasizes Camfil’s unwavering commitment to sustainability, growth, innovation, and addresses the increasing demands of the Asia-Pacific (APAC) market. The grand opening of the expanded plant was a momentous occasion attended by esteemed guests, including our guest of honour, the Swedish ambassador in Malaysia, Dr Joachim Bergström, Ambassador H.E.

Alan O'Connell, Camfil APAC President was also present and emphasized, "The opening of the new plant is a significant milestone for Camfil in the APAC region. It strengthens our ability to meet the growing demand for air filtration solutions while upholding our commitment to environmental responsibility.” Additionaly, the facility includes a new showroom and an auditorium specifically designed to facilitate customer visits, product showcases, product launches, training and industry events.

Karunagaran Krishan, VP Supply Chain for APAC stated, “The new plant features diversified production lines, such as Molecular Filter, Turbomachinery and HEPA/ULPA filters. This introduction enhances Camfil’s capabilities, allowing us to deliver cutting-edge solutions." The plant also incorporates advanced laboratories dedicated to research and development. These labs are crucial in driving continuous innovation, ensuring that Camfil remains at the forefront of technological advancements in air filtration.

As a special highlight during the grand opening ceremony, Camfil Chief Airgonomic Officer Alain Bérard,presented an unique recognition to the Chief Airgonomics Officers in Malaysia, recognizing their pivotal role and their dedication to take control over the Indoor Air Quality that people breathe in their workplaces.

Dr Joachim Bergström, Ambassador H.E. expressed his appreciation towards Camfil for locating research and development facilities in Malaysia. “R&D and innovation are Swedish specialties. Last year, we climbed to second place in the Global Innovation Index of WIPO, the World Intellectual Property Organization. Locating R&D here in Malaysia allows for the transmittance of knowledge and best practice, tapping into a new pool of talent and creativity. “said Dr Joachim Bergström.

Finally, the new plant's initiatives prioritize sustainability. With a dedicated commitment to eco-friendly practices, the facility focuses on producing energy-efficient products, aligning seamlessly with Camfil's dedication to a greener future.
