New Chairman of the Board at Camfil AB
Camfil AB’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place on Thursday, 26 March 2020. Like many other meetings at Camfil today, the AGM was held online using Microsoft Teams due to the COVID-19 situation.
At the meeting, Alan O’Connell was elected as the new chairman of the board with immediate effect. Alan has been with Camfil for almost four decades and has worked in Europe, the US and Asia in many different positions including group CEO and president. To secure a smooth transition during these uncertain times, he will remain as president for APAC until the end of this year. Alan brings a wealth of company and industry experience to the board, which is a major asset in supporting new board members well and creating a strong and diversified board. The owners are very pleased that Alan has agreed to take on this role, and they look forward to the strengths Alan will bring to the board during his term as chairman.
“I’m thankful for this opportunity and the trust the owners have placed in me, and I look forward to taking on this challenge. My focus during the upcoming years will be to work with Mark and his team to secure the implementation of CamPlan,” Alan says.
Jan Eric Larson, known as “Jaja”, has been chairman since 2001 and during this time has tripled the company’s turnover and significantly grown the company across the world. The owners would like to thank Jaja for his long and deep dedication to the company, both as CEO and as chairman, and are happy that he will continue as a board member.
“After 50 years in various roles at Camfil, it is now time for me to step down as chairman. My commitment, focus and presence will continue. The title and seat at the board table is the biggest change. For me, it was an easy decision to hand over the reins to Alan. We have known each other and worked together for many years, and I see Alan almost as a member of the family,” Jaja says.
